Caribbean region is lucky. Instead of one cruise season it has several. No matter which part of the Caribbean is the cruise destination, western or eastern, operating companies are used to select three main periods of increased tourism activity.
Summer season in the Caribbean
Traditional summer season begins in the Caribbean in mid-June. School holidays, which increases demand for family vacations, affects the cruise industry in the same way as other segments of tourism. Until the end of August prices for Caribbean cruises are the highest. Given the great popularity of Caribbean destinations as children holiday areas, in summer liners try to outdo each other by presenting more interesting entertainment programs and animation. Many people think that Disney is the undoubted leader. It is followed by Princess Cruises and Voyager ships of Royal Caribbean.
Caribbean seasons: Christmas and New Year
Christmas and New Year holidays are in high demand among family tourists. Caribbean region in winter is known for the huge number of luxury offerings. During this season the assortment of luxury cruises is the widest among other regions on the planet. Christmas and New Year on the Caribbean islands are holidays, which are called elite.
Spring season in the Caribbean
School holidays, as well as tourists from Canada, Germany and northern US states, who are tired of long winter, create the next seasonal boom on the Caribbean cruises. The period from February to April is one of the busiest times for the airports of the leading cruise terminals in the US, including Miami and Port Everglades. At that time delays of flights to Florida occur quite frequent. So, tourists have to arrive to the port a day or two before the departure in order to catch their cruise.
Cruise low season in the Caribbean
Low prices, wide choice of cabins, a large selection of interesting excursions are among the obvious advantages of cruises during the low season, which begins in the end of April in the Caribbean. School holidays are ended and romantic passengers can fully enjoy the Caribbean Islands. The only problem is that many romantic passengers are forced to return with their children. Thus, a significant part of tourists on the liners during this period are retired people from the "golden billion".
